The Time to Write® program is an excellent tool for teaching handwriting. It not only teaches proper letter and number formation, but it also reinforces top-to-bottom, left-to-right and counter-clockwise directionality. The children’s ability to sequence and follow directions is reinforced, as well. The program is filled with a variety of hands-on activities which allow children of all learning styles to experience success and have fun while learning. I highly recommend Time to Write®.

I have successfully used the Time to Write® program in teaching writing to kindergarten students. The program stresses directionality in forming letters, top-to-bottom, left-to-right, and counter-clockwise. Learning to print using the color code helps children to form letters without reversals and helps them to identify letters correctly in reading.

Betty Edwards has developed a writing program that is like no other. It is unique in that it incorporates many different necessary learning skills into one lesson.
